Fields Mapping

Setting Analogy Between Fields

A unique feature of  ESTARD Data Miner is that obtained rules and decision trees can be used for searching for data patterns in data sets.

If the structures (number of fields or their names and types) of the tables from Learning Database and the Analysed Database differ, you can set analogy between fields. This data mapping feature allows to apply rules and trees to search any table, selected from the Analysed Database.

To set the fields mapping press the   button at the "Search a Database" program tab to open the "Fields Analogy Settings" dialog:

  • "Rule/Decision Tree Field Name" - the left side of the control contains a list of Fields, found in the "Learning Database" table.
  • "Analysed Database Field Name" - the right side contains a list of Fields that can be set as an analogy. If the program detects Fields of the same names and types, it sets an analogy between them automatically. In case if some Fields do not have a list, this means there are no Fields of the same type in the "Analysed Database" table, and the analogy can't be set.
  • "Apply " button - click it to apply all changes.

Note: IF-THEN Rules and Decision Trees containing Fields that have no analogy will be ignored during Simple Select Queries.
