Statistics


For the main aim of Estard Data Miner is to help in decision-making, the information about values probabilities is very important. After processing a Query (either using Query Wizard or Manual Query Page) you can view statistics data for values by pressing the "Statistics" button on the main menu. You can also open Statistics from the "View" menu.

 

 

Note: In case if no query was processed, the statistics will not contain any data. The statistics are automatically obtained while processing a query manually or with the help of Query Wizard.

Available Functions

  • "Create Report..." button - opens the Statistics Report.
  • "Save Fields Data..." button - displays a Save Dialog, so that you can save obtained statistical data in a ".ltf" file - a special Estard Data Miner format.
  • "Load Fields Data..." button - displays a Load From Dialog, where you can choose to open previously saved (in ".ltf" format) statisctics data.
  • "Close" button - closes the Statistics dialog.

Charts Managing

 

  • The "View Data for Field" box allows to select a Field from a list. Statistics are displayed for the selected Field.
  • The "View Fields Values for Class" box is created to determine the displayed Class. Selecting a Class from a list will allow to see correlations between the selected Field values and the Class.
All the values, found in the selected  Field will be displayed in "Selecting Displayed Field Values" list. After Field selection all Values will be marked to be viewed. To view statistics for some part of the listed values, deselect all of them by pressing "Deselect All" button, mark some values and click "View Selected" button. Statistical data will be displayed in charts.
  • "Select All" button - marks all the values in the "Selecting Displayed Field Values" control.
  • "Deselect All" button - unmarks all the values.
  • "View Selected" button - displays the marked values in charts.

Field Values Chart

The "Values Occurance" Chart represents the frequency of the selected values in the selected Field. Each of selected values is represented twice: in the Chart and in the Chart legend. Both show the percent (or number, depending on settings described before) for the values of the Field. Total number of values is displayed in the bottom left corner of the Chart.

For example, as shown on the picture, the most expected value for the Field is "0,2...101,8999", and it's percentage equals 77,1772%. The second most expected value is "0", and it is met in 8,008 percents from all values in the field.

With the help of buttons at the bottom of the chart you can:

  • Zoom In
  • Zoom Out
  • Return to Normal View
  • Scroll left
  • Scroll Up
  • Center
  • Scroll Down
  • Scroll Right

Field Values Probability for Class

The "Field Values Probability for Class" Chart represents the selected values probabilities for the selected class. The name of the selected Field is shown below the Chart legend, while the name of the selected Class - in the top right corner.

The number of Values for the Class is displayed on the Chart Markings and in the Chart legend.

For example, in this case the most expected value for Class "Financial" is "0...161,9" and it is met in 77,0186% of records for the Class. The second most frequent value is "0...0,1999" and it is met in 11,1801% for the Class.

With the help of buttons at the bottom of the chart you can:

  • Zoom In

  • Return to Normal View
  • Rotate the Chart
