Query TypesA "Query" is a kind of data processing, used for knowledge discovery with ESTARD Data Miner. There are two main query types in ESTARD Data Miner:
1. Queries for Obtaining Statistics, If-Then Rules and Decision TreesTo obtain IF-THEN rules or decision trees you can use either Query Wizard or the "Query Parameters" program tab. Using Query Wizard is recommended for starting users. With it's help you will easily create IF-THEN rules, decision trees and statistics in a few steps. Manual query setting is faster and more convenient for experts, aknowledged with program structure. The main difference between using Query Wizard and manual query setting is that manual query setting is more flexible, allows to create statistics separately from IF-THEN rules and decision trees. As a result, the all analysis process is faster and more flexible:
2. Query for Using Obtained DataThe obtained Data can be used for calculations, reports, statistics, WHAT-IF analysis or for searching for data patterns in databases with the help of ESTARD Data Miner functions. For example: After obtaining Decision Rules describing loyal customers, you can search for loyal customers in other databases. The obtained data can be used to perform "Simple Select Query" ("Search a Database" page). "Simple Select Query" doesn't perform any data set changes. After performing a "Simple Select Query", ESTARD Data Miner will select and display all records, that are relevant to rules, selected for the "Simple Select Query".
